Director - Research Operations

This role is critical to the Research Division of Strategic Initiatives, aimed at implementing transformational activities across the shield’s strategic priorities.
You will work directly with dynamic leaders and a phenomenal team of project managers as we define the activities needed to realize our objectives and drive impactful outcomes.

Aptitude for anticipating team needs, defining essential problems, thinking creatively, and delivering outcomes to our stakeholders. Clear communication of plans and progress to leadership. Strong business acumen with the ability to work with people from diverse functional backgrounds and to build relationships that foster candid discussions. Ability to employ your expertise in change management as new efforts begin.The Director of Operations is responsible for directing, administering and achieving the operational goals and objectives established by the Senior Leadership Team. In addition to the strategic components, the Director will be charged with leading the implementation and providing oversight for new operational, quality, customer service and IT strategies that are required for compliance with applicable internal and external strategic partners such as the FDA, NIH and others. The Director is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of all infrastructure related to the center or research shared services units. The Director is responsible for establishing and meeting operational goals and expectations in line with the Research shield strategic plan and institutional strategic priorities. You will be responsible for leadership and facilitation of operational improvement to achieve best of class functionality. The Director works cooperatively with physician/scientist leaders, component directors, investigators, Research administration, clinical research coordinators, research accounting/finance, legal contract managers, lab, pharmacy, and other ancillary departments. Individual works cooperatively with representatives of other centers, departments, federal agencies, the pharmaceutical industry as well as other research organizations. Interacts with institutional and department/division committees across all sites.
