The Open Communications Systems (OCS) organization within Collins Aerospace, is designing communications systems for Next Generation technologies across a wide variety of platforms. 

We are hiring a Senior Principal Digital Electrical Engineer to create and support electrical designs in OCS. You will be part of a team of dedicated engineers creating new and exciting technology. You will be working on rapidly developing technologies in a variety of applications and environments. You will be integral to the design process from conception to production and will be a central contributor to major project designs. This position is located onsite in Fort Wayne, IN

What You Will Do

Design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or CCAs for modern communication systems

Circuit card design including hardware designs with processors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces, such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

Minimum of 10 years of engineering digital circuit design experience to include at least 2 of the following:

Development and design of electronic circuit designs, multi-assembly system/unit design

Ability to take a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level to development of a complete hardware design, and verification via test and integration

Experience with PCB design process and expertise in tools used to design (schematic capture), analyze and simulate designs prior to hardware execution.

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience with embedded test techniques, design for test, design margin analysis and design for production

Complex circuit card assemblies between 16 and 32 layers

Experience using Mentor Graphics Design Creation (Siemens EDA) tools: DxDesigner, xDX Designer VX, and Xilinx (Zynq Ultrascale, Vivado, Atrix)

Experience using PCB electronic circuit design software: HyperLynx signal integrity, power integrity, and analog simulation, Xpedition Enterprise (xPCB)

This is an Onsite role: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
