Barn Manager

Looking for a full time Barn Manager to handle all the day-to-day needs for 15 to 20 horses in a busy training barn.

My dream is to have a tidy barn aisle, clean stalls, clean water buckets, all horses fed correct hay nets and grain with supplements, bowls washed and set to dry. This does require attention to a detailed list that changes with the horses' needs. It requires someone that will tidy up as they go. We provide a side by side for quickly transporting hay nets around the property, and the tractor makes manure removal and dumping much less labor intensive. However it is still a very active job, and coming up with a routine to get the work done efficiently is essential.

Occasional oral medication may be required. While this is not a training position, staff must be confident in handling horses in turnout/bringing in, feeding in a pen of multiple horses, feeding a few pushy horses, and blanketing in wind/rain.

Hot wire fence repairs will be needed occasionally. Training provided.

This full time position will be supported by part time staff to cover days off and additional pen cleaning as needed.

This is a lovely community of active riders. All horses are in at least a part training/lesson package. Training focused on classical dressage and working equitation.

Although accommodation is not available at this time, the barn apartment will eventually be an option for rent on-site.
