Description: Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1st Grade Teacher for an hourly contract position in Chicago, IL. As a 1st Grade Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire young minds, foster a love for learning, and create a positive classroom environment where students can thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and promote students' academic growth.
  • Teach core subjects including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students in learning.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement interdisciplinary units and activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Valid Illinois teaching certification (Type 03) in Elementary Education with an endorsement in 1st Grade.
  • Previous experience teaching 1st grade preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices in elementary education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
