Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners are acritical part of a multidisciplinary team and possess uniqueexpertise and a focus on providing quality behavioral health careto acute populations. You will be part of a dedicated teamresponsible for assisting various patients by evaluating medicaland psychosocial conditions and overseeing the development andimplementation of treatment plans. The Psychiatric NursePractitioner works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team totake care of the mental emotional or behavioral disorders ofpatients engaged in services.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES /DUTIES:
- Provideevidencebased evaluation diagnosis and treatment of patientsincluding prescribing medications and/or other psychotherapeuticinterventions
- Provide treatment eitherindependently or with physician supervision in accordance withMassachusetts regulations
- Develop treatmentplans measure progress against the plans and make adjustments asneeded
- Provide crisis intervention asneeded
- Complete all necessary clinicaldocumentation in an accurate and timelymanner
- Collaborate with a broader team ofphysicians nurses social workers psychologists and occupationaltherapists to assess and adjust treatmentplans
- Coordinate and communicate with casemanagers family members and other stakeholders regarding treatmentand care
- Participate in the teaching ofstudents and other trainees
- Participate indepartmental and organizational quality improvementprograms
JOBREQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Masters Degree from a Nurse Practitionereducation program (with specialization in mental health) accreditedby a Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursingrecognizednational accreditation body
Experience:
- Two years of experience as a NursePractitioner
Licensure:
- Currentlicensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth ofMassachusetts
- Current valid DEA certificate andMA Controlled Substances certificate oreligibility
- Buprenorphine waiver required orwillingness to acquire a waiver
Certification
- Current advanced practice certification byMassachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing approved nationallyrecognized certifying body

- No Medicare or Medicaidsanctions
