To provide dental care or consultation to patients of all ages within the parameters of the endodontist’s area of experience for SEARHC.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job

Provide endodontic assessments and direct endodontic care to all patients of the SEARHC Dental Program. Develop and promote endodontic programs, protocols and systems for endodontic care that lead to best possible outcomes.

Act as advisor to the Dental Division Managers in all matters pertaining to endodontics.

Acknowledges all communications and submits required reports and chart documentation in a timely manner.

Performs additional duties assigned by the Dental Director.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required

DDS or DMD degree from CODA accredited dental school.

Graduate of a CODA accredited program in endodontics.

Dental Practice License in the State of Alaska or another US State. Alaska license preferred.

Experience Required

Endodontic therapy on all appropriate permanent dentition.

Endodontic surgery.

Vital and non-vital bleaching.

Treatment of root canal obstruction.

Internal root repair of perforation defects.

Retreatment of previous root canal therapy.

Apexification/recalcification therapy.

Canal preparation for dowel or post.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to follow infection control guidelines.

Ability to follow established protocol.

Diagnostic skills.

Treatment skills.

Follow established protocol.

Dexterity with hands.

Clinical Skills appropriate for the specialty of endodontics.

Required Certifications :

Dentist License (Pediatric) - Alaska State Board of Dental Examiners
