Description

Fluidra is seeking a Chemist I to join the team at our Taylor Water Technologies location in Sparks, MD.

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

The Chemist will work on the design and development of new analytical products and improvements to existing products, techniques, and methodologies. Performs material and product improvement tests. Develops formulas, processes, or methods for solutions to technical problems as needed. Performs laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical properties of substances. Analyzes test data and writes resulting reports. The Chemist will be responsible for completing projects as defined and on time. The Chemist will also be responsible for working with customers and other departments to support the successful rollout of new products.

Responsibilities:

Preparation of analytical test standard solutions Preparation of analytical reference standards Maintaining a laboratory notebook Performing analytical experiments and recording and analyzing corresponding data Operation of analytical instruments Maintaining a safe working environment Designing and developing new wet and dry analytical methodologies, techniques, and products for monitoring water quality Revising or modifying existing products, techniques, and methodologies under the supervision of the Manager of Research & Development Maintaining detailed records of all work performed in an approved laboratory notebook. Assist other departments (Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, with technical matters Explain and/or answer technical questions Assist with customer questions and/or problems Review and approve technical articles to be printed Provide technical support at trade shows, when needed

Qualifications:

BS degree in Chemistry 2 years related lab experience Proficiency in volumetric, colorimetric, and spectrophotometric analysis Extensive knowledge of analytical principles and techniques Skilled in the principles and operation of analytical apparatus and instrumentation Good oral and written communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative water quality analyses Demonstrate good laboratory technique Innovative thinker
