As a Pipefitter Superintendent, you will work on mechanical piping systems that are installed on large commercial construction projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fabricate piping systems for mechanical installations for use on commercial construction projects
  • Read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work including locations, quantities, and material specs.
  • Lead small to medium size teams. Work with Sr. Superintendent and Project Manager to create job scheduling and manpower
  • Selects type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment according to specifications
  • Cuts, threads, pro press, bends and assembles the pipes.
  • Prepare, cut, fabricate, layout, fit, position, and assemble piping components together in various positions.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding and grooved pipe.
  • Install hangers, supports, valves and components according to piping system plans and specifications.
  • Perform leak tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.
  • Proper identification and use of tools required for tasks (grinders, drills, beveling machine, etc.)
  • Operate forklifts and manlifts.
  • Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment.
  • Able to work from ladders and man lifts at various heights
  • Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned.

Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications

  • Must have 4+ years’ experience with pipe fitting processes using piping such as copper, stainless, and steel
  • Must be able to read and understand weld symbols, weld procedures, mechanical and structural drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals to determine work procedures such as ISO’s and blueprints
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and manufacturers manuals and instructions.
  • OSHA 10 hour preferred
  • Able to work from ladders and man lifts from various heights and operate the equipment as needed
