Responsibilities
The occupational therapist performs evaluation and treatment of patients/residents upon referral to relieve pain, prevent
disability, develop and improve skills and restore function. This position requires providing service to the following age
population(s) adolescents, adult, older adult, frail elderly in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. The TRS occupational therapist is required to move between programs and sites for coverage needs.
Qualifications
Education/Training/Experience:
Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapy Program. BLS, CPR certification required.
Licenses/Certifications:
Pennsylvania licensure in Occupational Therapy required. Certification is available from NBCOT. Certification is
required for specific service areas, as specified by the Administrator for Campus Therapies, Program Director or
Manager. Candidates are required to have a minimum of 2 years experience in at least 2 of the different treatment
settings.
Conditions of Employment
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
Conditions of Employment
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
