Job Description

Creates and maintains a collegial work environment with all collegiate programs related to the practice of Respiratory Care. Fills in as a clinical instructor as needed and assists in finding appropriate coverage for any students relating to observations/practice in the field of Respiratory Therapy (RT) when the student is in a clinical role. Responsible for the scheduling and overall oversight of the intern/residency program within the Cardiopulmonary and Neurology Division. This position is responsible for all Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives for the division as appointed by the Director. This includes performing the essential duties and responsibilities monitoring, compressing, and delineating, data regarding current and future quality initiatives in the Cardiopulmonary and Neurology Division (CP&N). Responsible for maintaining personal competence for all tools needed to perform quality management monitoring and reporting. Responsible for meeting the established standards for quality monitoring, appropriately documenting activities related to said monitoring and managing other responsibilities as directed by the Departmental Director. Responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and Hospital staff. Responsible for the safety, quality assurance, upkeep, maintenance and policy compliance. This will include upkeep, review, and writing of documents in the policy repository system as assigned. Must be versed in Microsoft Office Suite and can easily navigate the system.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Full Time 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; day/times may vary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Responsible for quality data monitoring and reporting. Responsible for coordinating clinical experiences with students in a clinical practicum in RT or other applicable practicum (Nursing, Paramedic, . Oversight of the intern and residency program in Cardiopulmonary and Neurology. Responsible for policies as assigned. Conforms to the regulations set by DNV, OSHA, CAP and other regulating bodies. Assumes responsibility for his/her professional development.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent Associate degree in Respiratory Care required
