The Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED) at West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a (Part-time) Dietitian.

About the Opportunity

As a (Part-time) Dietitian, you will provide clinical nutrition services for children and adults with disabilities and chronic conditions throughout their lifespan. To develop and disseminate nutrition education materials and trainings for people with disabilities, their caregivers, therapists, teachers, clinicians, and the general public on nutrition related topics. To coordinate with other programs, services, agencies, etc. to provide clinical and community-based nutrition services, nutrition technical support and nutrition education and resource. Work with the WVU CED Feeding and Swallowing Clinic, and provision of staff dietitian to the clinic. Will collaborate and support for other feeding clinics in West Virginia, the greater tristate region, and national feeding clinic consortia.

Work Hours: 8 hours per week (FTE: 0.20)

What you’ll do:

Provide clinical nutrition services for children and adults with disabilities. Develop and disseminate nutrition education materials and trainings for people with disabilities, their caregivers, therapists, teachers, clinicians, and the general public on nutrition-related topics. Coordinate with other programs, services, agencies and others to provide clinical and community-based nutrition services, nutrition technical support, and nutrition education and resources. Coordinate with the WVU CED clinics and provision of staff dietician to those clinics as identified. Provide pre-service training for interdisciplinary WVU CED graduate assistants, LEND fellows, and dietetic interns. Supervise WVU CED Clinical Dietitian Associates, graduate assistants and dietetic interns. Attend WVU CED committee and staff meetings. Provide productivity and program reports to the Center’s Database Manager and through CODA entries in a timely manner. Perform other duties as requested by the Center Director and supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nutrition, Dietetics, Public or Community Health, or related field is required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in nutrition and dietetics.
Experience and training in family/client-centered and interdisciplinary care.
Experience working in the disability field and with state agencies, consumers and/or organizations. Knowledge and background in nutrition and dietetics in relation to developmental disabilities and chronic disease. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Training and educational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in nutrition, Dietetics, Public or Community Health, or related field.

Certifications:

Registered Dietitian, licensed in West Virginia. Requirements Valid US driver's license. About Research Corporation
