JOB SUMMARY:

Working under the Executive Chef, the Latin Cuisine Chef will be responsible for crafting menus and preparing meals that celebrate the diverse flavors and traditional cuisines from Latin America, specifically the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Cuba, and other Central and South American countries. Our ideal candidate has a deep understanding of traditional Latin cooking techniques and ingredients and has the ability to create creative and authentic dishes that honor these rich culinary traditions. Working with the culinary team, this person will ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation. It is our goal to deliver our Hospitality Promise of the Best Food, Best Service, and Best Hospitality to our clients, the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball organization in Arlington, TX.

This is a full-time or part-time seasonal opportunity during the March - October 2025 baseball season.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In partnership with the Executive Chef, develop menus featuring authentic Latin cuisines, utilizing traditional techniques and ingredientsExhibit culinary talents by personally preparing Latin cuisine, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentationMaintain a well-organized kitchen that reflects the highest of standardsFollow safety protocols, equipment procedures, and ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulationsConduct quality checks through daily service tastings and meal checksAssist in sourcing products, as neededMaintain a welcoming and “customer-first” attitude; maintain open kitchen visibility with direct client relationshipsMaintain a “solutions minded” attitudeMaintain systems, i.e., rotating cleaning schedules, routine maintenance, opening and closing checklistsLearn how to incorporate dishes to support nutritional needs and preferences for athletic populations and cultural diversitiesExhibit excellent organizational, management and communication skills and portray this to both staff and clientDisplay a problem-solving mentality while exhibiting patience and compassion

QUALIFICATIONS:

3-5 years experience in a professional busy kitchenProficient in high-volume food service, with a focus on Latin cuisinesExperience in menu writing and working with recipesCurrent ServSafe certificationA working knowledge of baseball is preferredExcellent knowledge of kitchen equipment and advanced knife skillsStrong creativity, desire to learn, and interest in building delicious and healthy meals with lots of flavorConfidence in working with clients who have food sensitivitiesAble to work under pressureAbility to prepare creative, simple, healthy, performance -orientated menu items dailyInitiate and embrace collaboration with other cooks and chefsPerform the physical demands – Remain on your feet for several hours at a time, ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds, withstand high temperature conditions, bend, kneel, and stoopAbility to pass a background check and drug screenSpanish language fluency a plus

WORK SCHEDULE:

Able to work non-standard work week, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidaysYour schedule will be built around the 2025 Texas Rangers home game schedule
