Job Description:


The Office of Accessibility Resources is seeking a graduate assistant to fill the role of part-time Accommodations Coordinator. No direct experience is required; however, the ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized individual who is attentive to the needs of students with differences and disabilities, energized by helping others, a determined problem-solver, and an effective communicator who works well within a team and also independently. Candidates should be committed to cultivating an equitable and diverse academic environment. We are dedicated to training and providing professional development opportunities to students who do not have direct experience in this field.

Job responsibilities include:

Meeting with students for academic, dining, and housing accommodations intake meetings Meeting with the Associate Director of Accessibility Resources regarding accommodations approvals Communicating approved housing and dining accommodations to the student and other campus partners Following up with students who need additional support or encouragement to utilize accommodations Meeting with students for general Individual Academic Consultations Small-scale information management via our Student Accommodation Manager portal Communicating regularly with faculty, staff, students, and parents regarding academic support and accommodations Facilitating note taking processes, ensuring student client access to notes


Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and acceptance into Berry's MBA program. Excellent organization and communication (written and verbal) skills. Interest in learning about the field of accessibility resources and disability support.
