WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Consultant, Geotechnical Engineer for our Austin, TX Office.
Your Impact
Planning, estimating, and conducting subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs in soil and rockCapable of using commercially available geotechnical softwarePerform Pavement Design and Pavement ManagementManage projects or geotechnical tasks, manage subconsultantsCommunicate with with clients, respond to clients' requests, and attend design and progress meetingsDevelopment and management of subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programExecute geotechnical standard practice, develop geotechnical design and analysis strategy for transportation/transit projects, foundation design, retaining wall design, tunnel initial support design, support of excavation design, seismic design, instrumentation monitoring design, etc.Development of plans and specifications related to geotechnical, underground and foundation engineeringProviding geotechnical support during constructionPerform and/or observe field and logging to soil/rock borings as requiredWho You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Geotechnical Engineering7-10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical design and constructionTexas PE registrationStrong verbal and written communication skillsProven experience in Texas area geotechnical practice and geologyProven experience with TxDOT and Design Build projectsProven experience in geotechnical project planning, design and preparation of reports, drawings and specificationsExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP"s Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP"s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesPreferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Engineering.40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.
