POSITION: Assistant Principal Surline Middle School

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters degree, emphasis in educational leadership and/or related fields. A valid State of Michigan administrative certificate. A valid State of Michigan teaching certificate. Minimum of 4-6 years successful teaching experience or previous administrative experience. Excellent communication skills in working cooperatively with staff, students, parents and community. Experience working in a leadership position. Excellent verbal, listening and writing skills. Knowledge and belief in instructional best practices that meet the developmental and individualized needs of all students. Ability to effectively use technology and technology applications

DUTIES:

Interacts with students to encourage each individual to perform at his/her highest level. Administers the total operation of the school and its personnel. Maintains relations with parents, parent groups, school volunteers, and outside agencies. Directs, supervises, and evaluates the instructional program and instructional staff. Completes, leads and directs performance appraisal for all staff. Assists in the selection and procurement of teaching and nonteaching personnel. Recommends and administers guidelines for proper student conduct and maintaining student discipline. Supervises the administration of various activities and extra-curricular events. Serves on various district-wide committees as needed. Performs all other duties assigned.

SALARY: Based upon the qualifications, training and experience of the candidate; contract days.

STARTING DATE: August 19,
