Who We Want:

The primary responsibility of the Materials Manager is to ensure Plant Materials staff members are trained and following procedures set forth by the Director of Materials. They have responsibility in the oversight of the Materials Department to achieve operational objectives and customer satisfaction. This includes the management of inventory levels, on-time shipment of finished goods, warehousing/shipping of goods, customer service, the procurement, receipt, and storage of raw materials.

What You'll Do:

Order Processing – EDI and ManualMRP, JRP, PRPKnowledge of KanbanAll Shipping Activities – Scanning, Labeling, Loading, Paperwork, etc.Accum ManagementCustomer ContactOn time deliveryPackaging (Returnable and Expendable)Receiving Process – Standard and SubcontractTrack ErrorsProduction SchedulingOversees the releasing of all raw materials and purchased partsCapacity AnalysisResponsible for all Warehouse(s) Organization – Raw, Purchased, WIP and Finished GoodsMaintain defined inventory levels – reporting those levels out as requiredCycle count inventories to ensure accuracy of 90% plusEnsure adequate inventories are maintained so Production can operate without stoppages

When and Where:

This will be a 1st Shift / 7AM-5PM M-F position located at our Plant in Pontiac, MI

What You Need to Have:

High School Diploma requiredMinimum of five years’ experience in a Materials Planner, Materials Scheduler or closely related role requiredLeadership experience requiredBachelor’s Degree preferred (major or concentration in Supply Chain Management/Logistics is a strong plus)Experience with Plex Systems ERP strongly preferredPrevious experience in automotive industry preferredExperience using GM Supply Power or Honda Web preferredHas high standards of performance for selfTakes responsibility for actions, results, and mistakesIs thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks; demonstrates honesty and integrity in all aspects of workTakes positive action to objectively resolve conflict by listening, staying focused on issue to find resolution, and monitoring progressMaintains positive relationships by constructively resolving conflicts.Uses feedback from others to continuously improve performance and work relationshipsMoves within own and/or other work areas (flexes) to support plant flowWorks with sense of urgency to meet needs of customersHas necessary experience, skills, and knowledge to perform all aspects of job; rotates through all job responsibilitiesMaintains knowledge and skills to perform job effectivelyHas ability to focus on benefits of change and see it as positive; approaches change or newness in constructive/objective manner; views change as learning opportunityLooks for good in others; works collaboratively with others; shares information and knowledgeIs at work when scheduled and ensures coverage when absent; takes timely breaks/lunches; uses time wisely
