PA/NP - Pediatric Intensive Feeding - Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI

The Intensive Feeding Program (IFP) Advanced Practice Provider would be 1 of several APPs within the larger Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital system. This APP would join the other APPs, within the section of pediatric Neurodevelopment, to rotate weekend call with an expected rotation of 1 of 8 weekends. This call does not require medical care on site and is able to provide support via telephone.
A strong APP candidate would possess at least 2-3 years of general pediatric APP experience with pediatric neurodevelopmental and/or gastrointestinal experience.
The APP provider would be expected to work Monday – Friday on-site within the office located at Mary Free Bed.
Responsibilities could include:
The primary medical provider for the day treatment and outpatient programs
The primary medical provider to complete follow up visits once the day treatment and/or outpatient programs are completed
Triaging referrals from other providers, specialty groups, and health care systems
The primary medical provider to be the liaison between patients and their other subspecialists

Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner
Education - Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
Experience - 3 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in current, relevant clinical experience Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role
Licenses -
Registered Nurse (RN)* All
Nurse Practitioner – Licensed (NP)* All
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) , Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) All, except Neonatal Services, Peds Trauma

Physician Assistant
Basic Qualifications:
Education - Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
