Job Summary
The Navigation Technologist performs navigation cases in the operating room.

Days with call and stay late

Job Specific Responsibilities

Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:

• Performs Navigation cases in the Operating Room
• Prepares patients for testing by informing and explaining the procedure and administering the requested test
• Set up equipment
• Answers call for emergency patient care requirements of the Navigation Cases during holidays, weekends, and after hours assigned.
• Maintains proper paperwork and documentation for all tests based on age appropriateness and development needs of patients
• All other assigned duties related to navigation and/or Operating Room needs
• All other assigned duties related to attending the operating room

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED

Skills and Abilities

• Understanding of basic medical terminology
• Understanding of basic anatomy and physiology of the body
• Effective communicator; Must read, write, and speak English
• Should be able to work flexible schedule and be “on call” when needed

Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships

This position will interact with patients, their families, and hospital medical staff in various departments

Physical Capabilities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Environmental/Working Conditions

This position is subject to indoor temperature changes. Work done intraoperative is performed in a high- risk area for exposure to blood borne pathogens.
