Responsibilities
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Take digital dental x-rays and perform other diagnostic tests as required
- Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care measures
- Administer local anesthesia as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical record systems (Open Dental)
- Assist the dentist during procedures and provide chair-side support
- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean dental environment
- State issued dental hygienist license
- State issued dental hygienist license
- Prior experience as a hygienist required
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient in dental software and technology
- Proficient in medical imaging techniques for dental diagnostics
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (Open Dental) for maintaining patient records
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures for accurate insurance claims submission
- Strong understanding of dental office operations and procedures
- Excellent patient assessment skills to identify oral health issues and develop treatment plans
- Thorough knowledge of infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry
