The Arizona Genomics Institute (School of Plant Sciences) is seeking a talented and motivated candidate for a Wet Lab Technician I.The successful candidate will be integrated into a small group of experienced researchers and work regularly on nucleic acid extraction and intermittently on sequencing library preparation projects. The main job duties will consist of: operate and maintain lab inventory and equipment, perform DNA and RNA extraction, execute simple molecular biology protocols, and train undergraduate students, all while under the guidance of a supervisor.

Duties & Responsibilities Maintain wet lab reagents and consumables inventory. Extract nucleic acids using basic protocols. Perform quality control with different instruments and methods. Prepare sequencing libraries for long- and short-read sequencing platforms and execute other molecular biology lab protocols. Maintain detailed records, summarize the results in reports. Interact with, and train other researchers and contribute to an overall productive scientific and personal environment. Additional duties may be assigned depending on the candidate’s experience, aptitude, and projects available.
