What You'll Do

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Facilities and Maintenance Attendant to join our team at our cannabis production site. This role will focus on maintaining and managing critical systems within the facility, including irrigation, lighting, ventilation, and overall building infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in facility upkeep, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and will be responsible for ensuring the facility remains in optimal condition while adhering to industry-specific regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address any maintenance issues, including checking equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and lighting.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility infrastructure, ensuring everything operates efficiently and safely.
  • Complete minor repairs such as fixing plumbing issues (e.g., leaky faucets, toilets), electrical repairs (e.g., replacing bulbs, outlets), and addressing HVAC system concerns (e.g., filters, ventilation).
  • Assist with the installation and assembly of new equipment, ensuring it's operational and correctly calibrated.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with machinery, systems, and equipment in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure a clean and safe workspace, promoting a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Assist in setting up production equipment, ensuring that all tools and machinery are clean and functioning before use.
  • Regularly clean and maintain production lines and storage areas to ensure an organized and efficient workflow.
  • Oversee waste disposal systems, ensuring proper waste segregation, storage, and removal in accordance with industry standards.
  • Manage Green waste disposal and ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests that arise during facility operations to minimize disruptions.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or training in facilities management, HVAC, electrical work, or plumbing is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, ideally in a regulated environment such as agriculture, food production, or cannabis.
  • Strong understanding of irrigation systems, lighting, and ventilation systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs.
  • Ability to perform routine building maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC maintenance.
  • Familiarity with facility management software and work order systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and inventory.
  • Ability to climb ladders and perform maintenance or repairs in high or hard-to-reach places, such as adjusting lighting or inspecting equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, climbing ladders, and standing for long periods.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, bending, and moving equipment or supplies.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, which may require physical labor and mobility throughout the facility.
  • Exposure to varying light conditions, including bright artificial lighting in production areas as well as dim lighting in certain areas such as storage or cultivation rooms.
  • Willingness to work in environments with differing temperatures, including cooler areas for storage or cultivation and warmer areas related to production processes.
  • Ability to work in environments requiring personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, masks, and safety goggles, as necessary for safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Ability to perform tasks in potentially confined or high places, such as adjusting lighting or performing maintenance on high shelving or equipment.
