Description


We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Assistant Instructor at The Barrett School. As an Assistant Instructor, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students. Your main responsibilities will include assisting the lead instructor, participating in collaborations with colleagues within the Pre-Primary department and throughout the school as a whole, providing individualized support to students, and maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment.

Responsibilities


  • Assist the lead instructor in delivering lessons and facilitating classroom activities

  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance in understanding and completing assignments

  • Supervise and engage with students during class breaks and outdoor activities

  • Assist in the organization and preparation of instructional materials and resources

  • Monitor student behavior and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment

  • Collaborate with the lead instructor and other team members to develop and implement lesson plans

  • Assess and record student progress and contribute to the creation of student progress reports

  • Partner with parents and lead instructor about each child’s progress

Requirements


  • A bachelor's degree in Education or a related field

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities

  • Patience and empathy in working with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities

  • Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
