As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Manager, to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our facilities. 

As a key member of the TL Texas team, the Facilities Manager will bring a positive attitude, high ethical standards, and a track record of successfully resolving challenges when working with colleagues, trades, and clients with your collaborative approach. You will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of our physical infrastructure, and will manage budgets, and contribute to the development and execution of strategic facilities plans.

The ideal candidate you will need to have the flexibility and adaptability to successfully navigate in a constantly changing environment including the willingness to grow as our geography, role and tasks evolve.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

How we see your role breaking down:

Maintenance and Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and compliance issues, and take appropriate corrective actions Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance and repairs for buildings, equipment, and systems Budget Management: Develop and manage the facilities budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities Work collaboratively with finance and procurement to optimize resources and maintain fiscal responsibility Vendor and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts with external vendors and service providers for facility-related services Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service level agreements Health & Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory standards Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a culture of workplace safety Ensure all vendors comply with BURNCO’s Health and Safety policies Space Planning and Utilization: Collaborate with senior lead to assess space needs and plan for efficient space utilization Coordinate office relocations, expansions, and renovations as needed

Experience/Technical Skills/Knowledge

Proven experience in industrial facilities management with 7+ years of relevant work experience including property management, commercial leasing, construction, tenant regulations, and budgeting with thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. interpreting and following local building codes and bylaws Capability to develop and implement emergency response plans, conduct drills and training sessions, and coordinate responses to ensure the safety and security of facility occupants during emergencies Dedication to meeting the needs of internal stakeholders, tenants, and occupants by providing responsive and high-quality facility services, addressing concerns promptly and professionally Proficiency in understanding and managing the maintenance and repair needs of buildings, equipment, and systems within a facility Comprehensive understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems , safety codes, and regulatory requirements relevant to facility management Skill in developing and managing budgets, forecasting expenditures, and implementing cost-saving measures while maintaining operational efficiency Proficiency in planning, executing, and overseeing facility-related projects, including renovations, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades, within budget and timeline constraints Experience in selecting and managing external vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality workmanship and timely delivery of services Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, as well as environmental standards, with the ability to implement and enforce policies to maintain a safe and compliant work environment Ability and appetite for working in a fast-paced environment is a must

Education/Certification/Designation

Bachelor's degree or diploma in facilities management, engineering, business, or a related field Combination of schooling and experience will be considered Preference will be given to individuals who are members of IFMA Certificate in First Aid, OSHA, CSO, will be considered an asset Understanding of the principles and benefits of IREM, BOMA and IFMA organization's program for properties Proficient in relevant software and technology for facilities management such as Microsoft Office package with Intermediate or advanced user with MS Project/MS Excel, MS Sharepoint, and Google Maps / Google Earth Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Valid Drivers License is required, as well as an up-to-date Passport for travel across the Canada/United States border

WORKING CONDITIONS

On-call availability Inspection of cables in floors and ceilings, climbing ladders with appropriate PPE gear Valid Passport required - including the ability to legally travel to Canadian and USA Headquarters for periodic meetings Inter-state/inter-province travel is required
