Overview

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineering Lab Technician to join our team at our facility located in Danbury, CT, 06810. As a Test Engineering Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Test Engineering functional group with a variety of moderately complex engineering duties including hands-on tasks.

Responsibilities

Familiar with a laboratory environment and test equipmentSet up test apparatus and conduct operational testingPerform cabinet integration testing and troubleshootingWrite test reports to assess the ability of products to perform per specificationsReview project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment needed, nature of technical problem and possible solutionsSet up and conduct tests of assembled units and componentsRecord results with numerical and graphical dataAnalyze test results related to the design and test objectivesProvide hands-on feedback to engineersSupport of qualification testing including test execution coordination in-house and at external labsOperate Engineering Lab environmental chamberFabricate engineering and manufacturing test fixtures from drawings and schematicsPerform test fixture repairs, modifications and certificationsPerform lab 6S activities (cleanup, safety, etc.)Ability to work independently with minimum supervisionSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Qualifications

2+ years of experience and an Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to interpret schematics

Mechanical aptitude and practical knowledge of general hand tools and machine shop equipment

Prior experience soldering

Ability to troubleshoot hardware to the component level

PC skills and experience using MS Word, Excel, and VISIO

Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
