Substitute IT Technician

An ESS substitute IT Technician provides technical support for the school district to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness of the district's technology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field maintenance on district computer systems and associated equipment.
  • Resolve hardware/software conflicts and restore operational functionality.
  • Deploy new technology when acquired to end users, after verifying functionality and adherence to system policies.
  • Complete service requests and associated documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Reload or update driver software, patches, and upgrades on an as-needed basis.
  • Configure network client stations including addressing, email and Internet access and resolve login issues.
  • Coordinate repair activities with warranty providers and outsourced vendors including follow-up to ensure units arrive back promptly.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with end users and follow all security and administrative procedures associated with visiting school sites.
  • Perform training and presentation activities as assigned.
  • Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance and the ability to adapt to an extended / flexible work schedule.
  • Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/ or credentials as may be required for this position.
  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
  • Provide occasional after-hours or weekend support as needed.
  • Provide assistance to networking team as needed.
  • Participate in professional development/training classes and conferences designed to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies and administrative directives.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma and A+ certification, or two years of relevant experience troubleshooting and repairing computer systems in a multi-platform, networked environment.
