Job Description

ASRC Federal Agile Decision Sciences is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems.

We are seeking highly motivated Principal Cyber Systems Engineers to support the development and sustainment of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) anti-ballistic missile system project in Huntsville, AL. This position requires on-site work to be performed in Huntsville, AL. There are no remote work options. 

This engineer will work closely with the Software Factory team on GNI to ensure that various cloud infrastructure platforms are developed and operational for the customer (MDA). Government security clearance of SECRET or higher is required, and work will be performed at both Northrop Grumman facilities and at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Travel is required from Gateway to the Arsenal on a weekly basis using a personal vehicle, and fuel cost will be non-reimbursable by the government contractor.

Requirements

US Citizenship, current DoD Secret clearance or higherBachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 10 years of related experience or a Master’s degree and 7 years of related experienceMust have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security + CE)Strong systems administrator experience, specifically in Windows/Linux Operating Systems environmentsRecent experience working with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google CloudRecent experience and skills in agile software principles, particularly regarding building a plan or roadmap for multiyear program / productCommunicates effectively, both internally and externally to teamEager to expand knowledge and continually improveAbility to write or review software codeMust be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and KubernetesExperience with Helm Charts and Ansible TechnologiesExperience with configuration management tools, i.e., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, othersFamiliarity with DevSecOps practices, Kubernetes, Docker, and/or other cloud orchestration technologiesFamiliarity with branching strategies, gated commits and source-controlled managementProgramming and scripting experience in a UNIX environment (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell, Scripts)Programming and scripting experience in a Windows environment (PowerShell, etc.)
