Fiber Technician 4

Position Summary The Fiber Technician 4 performs expert level installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance for all fiber delivered services from the OLT to the customer premise equipment. The FT-4 performs fiber transport and distribution network troubleshooting to resolve system outages and HE/Hub ma to ensure system reliability and standards compliance. Qualifications Successful completion of all Fiber Tech 3 or Premise Tech 3 requirements including necessary formal training Advanced knowledge in the training, coaching, and mentoring of other technicians in all aspects of the job In good standing with the company Meets PT-4 or ST-1 requirements w/formal training Excellent customer oriented attitude, and team player. Availability and commitment Availability for shift work Physical capabilities including climbing and lifting Responsibilities Expert installation of services including voice, video, and data, and enterprise services Operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe manner. Stock vehicle and maintain proper inventory levels Take advantage of Company provided training Continually improve product knowledge Participate as required in on-call, evening, and/or shift work hours Maintain workforce utilization level as required Perform CLI work Sweep HFC networks, DOCSIS 3.1 Node Certification. Power supply maintenance Splice and repair HFC and FTTH networks Ability to identify and resolve plant issues Ability to read and interpret network prints and documentation Other duties as cited in the FT-4 career path
