POSITION SUMMARY

The Selling Electrical Technician role at Malek Service Company is primarily sales-focused, with technical training provided for the right fit. As a Selling Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for generating sales leads, promoting our company's products and services, and providing exceptional service, repairs, and maintenance on HVAC systems. Your strong communication skills, sales acumen, and ability to identify sales opportunities will drive customer satisfaction and business growth.

OBJECTIVES

  • Generate sales leads and promote the company's electrical products and services to customers, highlighting their benefits and value.
  • Offer multi-option improvements and solutions to customer concerns.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify potential upsell or cross-sell opportunities during service visits and effectively communicate those opportunities to customers.
  • Communicate with customers to explain system issues, proposed solutions, and associated costs, ensuring transparency and addressing any concerns.
  • Provide accurate and detailed estimates and quotes for repair or replacement services, ensuring competitive pricing and profitability.
  • Follow up with customers to answer questions, address concerns, and aid with scheduling necessary repairs or installations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's products, services, and pricing to effectively educate customers and promote value-added solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in Electrical systems to provide customers with up-to-date information and recommendations.
  • Keep detailed records of service calls, customer interactions, and sales opportunities using appropriate software or CRM systems.
  • Continuously strive to achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.

COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to customers and promote electrical products and services.
  • Strong sales and customer service orientation, with a track record of successfully identifying and closing sales opportunities.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, components, and controls, including knowledge of a variety of brands and models.
  • Ability to provide accurate estimates and quotes for repair or replacement services, taking into account labor, materials, and associated costs.
  • Proficiency in using sales and CRM software to manage leads, track opportunities, and maintain customer records.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and follow-up.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2 years of sales experience or relative training, preferred
  • Experience in residential electrical services not required but preferred
  • Must possess valid state driver's license and clean driving record

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing, bending, climbing, sitting, small crawl spaces and heights
  • Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
  • Wear safety attire, such as goggles or other protective clothing
  • Could be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are uncomfortable and distracting
  • Requires the ability to raise, manipulate and maneuver tools, components and materials and handle a variety of items, equipment, control knobs, switches, etc.
  • Work in high or elevated places and/or in tight spaces
  • Ability to withstand hot and cold indoor and outdoor temperatures

COMPENSATION

  • This Position will earn an hourly compensation including the opportunity to make commission bonuses and incentives.

SCHEDULE

  • Be prepared to run service and sales calls Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
  • On Call Rotation: This position runs after hours service calls.
