Description
1. Assists, assembles, primes and manages ECMO circuit.
2. Provides bedside care after ECMO support has been instituted and the situation has stabilized.
3. Provides ECMO patient care and assists the medical staff in ongoing ECMO patient management.
4. Provides general circuit maintenance during ECMO support.
5. Ensures medical orders are completed within the time frame appropriate to the order.
6. Acts as a resource for the ECMO technicians.
7. Troubleshoots machine alarms and failures.
8. Assembles and primes CVVH circuit and hands off care to bedside RN but rounds daily to check CVVH machines.
9. Assists in the development, implementation and review of ECMO policies, procedures and protocols.
10. Assists management by providing input on interviewing and hiring of staff, assessing staff competency levels and ensuring compliance with AC policies and procedures, regulations and health care standards.
