PositionSummary:
Research scientists carryout independent research on lipid synthesis, natural product extraction andproduct purification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includethe following. Other duties may be assigned.
Synthetic reaction setup and workup, naturalproduct extraction, column chromatography, crystallization, rotary evaporation,lyophilization, literature search, research planning and execution, analysis ofresearch results and Enotebook maintenance.

Non-EssentialDuties: Lab equipment and chemical reagent maintenance,working space and equipment sanitation.

Supervisory Responsibilities: supervise research associates and assistantsassigned to the chemist

Education and/or Experience: or degree in organic chemistry or 5 years’ industry experience onresearch associate level.

Skills and Abilities: syntheticroute design and execution, working knowledge on NMR, MS, HPLC, GPC, GC, TLC andother common analytical methods

OtherQualifications: Proficiency in Windows, Office, ChemDraw, SciFinderand Enotebook software

PhysicalDemands: Able to lift 50 lb. and long period of standing.

WorkEnvironment: Chemistry research and manufacturing laboratory
