Job Description: Special Education, Special Services & Compliance Coordinator
Our ideal candidate will have:
Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, and community members. Proficiency in data analysis and using data to drive instructional decisions. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. This salaried position may require time outside of the normal workday, including evenings and weekends, to meet the school districts and its students needs. The position may involve travel between school sites within the district.Reports To: Administration
The Special Education, Special Services & Compliance Coordinator is a key leadership role in our district and a caseload manager to support the needs of our students. This position coaches and collaborates with special education staff in collaboration with principals, teachers, the superintendent, and other non-union staff. This position ensures the development, implementation, and compliance of all special education programs and services, including plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting teachers, meeting with parents, and ensuring students receive the necessary support to succeed.
Leadership and Oversight: Collaborate with principals, teachers, the superintendent, and other staff to ensure cohesive and effective special education services.Develop and implement policies and procedures related to special education and compliance. Program Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor plans and IEPs to ensure they meet students individual needs.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to special education.Stay current with changes in special education laws and best practices. Teacher Support and Coaching: Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development to special education teachers.Assist teachers in developing and implementing effective instructional strategies for students with disabilities.Support teachers in using data to inform instruction and monitor student progress. Parental and Community Engagement: Meet with parents and guardians to discuss student support, plans, and IEPs.Serve as a liaison between the school district and families, ensuring open and effective communication.Facilitate meetings and conferences related to special education services and student progress. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all special education records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with legal requirements.Prepare and submit required reports to state and federal agencies.Monitor and ensure compliance with all timelines and procedural safeguards. Additional Duties: Collaborate with non-union staff and other departments to support students with disabilities.Participate in district-wide initiatives and committees as assigned.Perform other related duties as assigned by the superintendent.We have other current jobs related to this field that you can find below
