First Shift: Monday-Thursday, 5:00am-3:30pm

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Physical- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. safely or with assistance. Capable of standing and bending over for long periods of time while performing manual labor with or without reasonable assistance.
  • Working Hours- Fulltime Employment (40hrs/week).
  • Personal Traits- Excellent communication skills with positive teamwork and safety attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy while able to multi-task and trouble shoot.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting the department supervisor with all departmental operations, including hands-on procedures. Timely completion of job functions, prepare and requisition supply items as required. Produce parts and products in accordance with the established safety, quality, and cost standards of the Company. Assist in the scheduling of the daily work load as well as delegating work to employees when needed. Perform Lock out/Tag out procedures when appropriate. Authorized to drive company forklift if trained.

  • Ensure dept. employees work safely and hazardous conditions are eliminated.
  • Assist in the scheduling of the daily work load as well as delegating work to employees as needed.
  • Assist in supervising and monitoring of department employees; including training, work allocation and problem resolution.
  • Assist in the day-to-day decisions for the department as well as the administrative tasks in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are met with all work done in the department.
  • Ensure output meets required deadlines while executing above.
  • Ensure ISO quality system and safety procedures are followed within department.
  • Ensure cross departmental communication is accurate and effective.
  • Maintain inventory control systems and procedures; oversee shipping and receiving of departmental supplies and materials. Ensure inventory quantities are accurate at end of each month.
  • Ensure all applicable operating policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintain monthly Scrap Log
  • Perform Lock out/Tag out procedures when appropriate.
  • Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Complete task independently from job-list.
  • Requisition supplies as needed and approved.
  • Maintain neat and clean work area.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Broad knowledge to perform routine, extensive and preventative maintenance and upkeep of equipment and instruments used.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and program Coatings department equipment.
  • Basic computer and writing skills, including experience with Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read, understand and explain blueprints and/or technical manuals.
  • Possess basic math skills as well as ability to read English and use tape measure and caliper to the fraction and decimal.
  • Excellent leadership skills. Ability to assess operational requirements and to plan and organize work flow patterns and schedules.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • Display good leadership qualities. Be a role model for the department and set the standard of productivity, safety, and quality for employees of different levels to follow.

Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Coatings function
