Established, fine residential furnishings design and manufacturing company seeks part time (min 20 hours per week) to assist Manager of Accounting and Administration with Accounts Payable, Payroll and special projects.

Bring proven bookkeeping skills, attention to detail, organizational and communication abilities, written and phone, for professional interaction with suppliers, vendors, and internal administrative team.

Convenient Bushwick/Ridgewood NY location

Responsibilities:

*General Accounting:

*

Cash recording, Bank reconciliations and Adj. Journal EntriesReview general ledger for accuracy and consistency.Assist with monthly financial reports for management.Payroll processing in the accounting system

*Accounts Payable:

*

Enter and process vendor invoices.Manage accounts payable process.Co-ordinate and execute payments on time.Accounting for inter-company payables

*Special Projects

*

Assist with Workers Compensation and other Insurance audits as needed.Assist with preparing Sales Tax returns: web-based filing.Assist with annual 1099 reporting.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Proficiency in Microsoft office including Excel & Word.Experience with QuickBooksAbility to multitask and prioritize daily activities to meet deadlines.Willingness to learn.At least 1-year prior accounting experience in wholesale (Manufacturing) preferred.
