Job Title: SIU Analyst

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conducts in-depth background investigations and deep social media dives into individuals and business entities across multiple jurisdictions and develops actionable leads in support of the SIU program and Major Case Unit. Collects and analyzes large volumes of data using specialized analytical software for proactively identifying suspicious trends and patterns of organized insurance fraud activities. Synthesizes and conveys complex investigative findings in oral briefings, narrative reports, link analysis studies, and timelines. Participates in the development of fraud prevention strategies, emerging data analytics technologies, and assists with the delivery of fraud awareness training initiatives. Develops and maintains external relationships with industry, law enforcement and others involved in fraud investigations, detection, and prevention. Responds to law enforcement and SIU industry requests for collaboration in major case investigations. Collaborates closely with SIU management and team.

COMPETENCIES/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

First and Third-Party Casualty, Property, and Workers Compensation experience with emphasis on medical provider fraud. Similar related experience within a law enforcement agency will also be considered. Highly proficient data mining and research skills for navigating public records, social media, and claims industry databases for conducting background investigations into individuals and business entities. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for recognizing trends and patterns across multiple claims with and the ability to think outside the box.  Strong verbal and formal report writing skills witha meticulous eye for relevant details and the proficiency to relay complex investigative findings clearly and succinctly. Experience with claims litigation, the discovery process, and the documentation and preservation of evidence. Proficient Microsoft Excel/Access skills with an aptitude and desire for learning data analytics and mapping programs. Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

EDUCATION:

College Degree and/or prior analyst experience at another insurance carrier or law enforcement agency.

Professional Insurance Designations desired, but not required.
