SUMMARY

As a Business Intelligence Engineer at Zappos, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our robust reporting and analytics models. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data is collected, processed, and made available for analysis, reporting, and machine learning applications. You will be a key contributor to shaping our strategic innovation program by equipping the project teams with the insights into the operational performance. You will have an eye for detail, are proficient/advanced in SQL/DW/Python and have a knack for solving challenging data and reporting challenges. The role requires you to feel comfortable working with and clearly communicating with other functional teams.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Supporting analytics team in the areas of web analytics/ product analytics.

Independently design scalable solutions which enable self-service - this might require to work on data gathering, creating data pipelining and reporting.

Convert business intake into data requirement and provide actionable insights.

Will be evangelizing the analytics best practices across the org.

Be a go to person from analytics for the data awareness with-in the org and might provide views on acquiring external data to fill up the void on data availability.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

At least five (5) years of experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.

Expertise in data normalization and dataset modeling.

Proficiency in SQL and with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.

Experience in scripting for automation ( Python).

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience with data visualization tools (, AWS QuickSight, Tableau, PowerBI).

WHAT REALLY WOWS US

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Proficiency in AWS cloud services and tools, including but not limited to AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline, AWS Lambda, and Amazon S3.

Experience with columnar database engines and NoSQL database technology.
