Optum Medical Assistants, under the supervision of a licensed Medical Provider, are to assist the Medical Provider with providing patients with the highest standards of medical care.
Location: Clifton Ave, Clifton, NJ
Specialty: Family Medicine
Hours: 40 total hours per week. Monday, Thursday, and Friday between 8:00am & 6:00pm. Tuesday and Wednesday between 8:00am & 5:00pm. Every other Saturday between 8:00am & 2:00pm
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepares the patient for the Medical Provider’s examination by obtaining vital signs and patient historyPrepares and maintains the examination and treatment areasPrepares the patient for and assisting with the examinationPrepares the patient for and assisting with procedures and treatmentsMaintains medication and immunization recordsPerforms sterilization techniquesPerforms an inventory of supplies and equipmentUnderstands proper function and care of special equipmentPerforms routine maintenance and calibration of administrative and clinical equipmentAdministers vaccines and other injections where applicableOrganizes and maintains medical recordsCooperates with other OPTUM employees to achieve specific team goalsTo the extent requested by the Medical Provider, OPTUM Medical Assistants are also responsible for certain follow-up with patients, such as ensuring specialist appointments are scheduled and referrals are preparedAll OPTUM employees are expected to keep abreast of current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPPA and OSHA requirementsAssist with front desk duties when neededOther duties as assignedYou’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalentCMA certificationProven basic computer and word-processing skillsAbility to work Monday - Friday between 7:00am – 8:00pm & two Saturdays per month between 8:00am and 2:00pmBilingual – Spanish/EnglishPreferred Qualifications:
Related experienceNew Jersey Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
