The Job
You will be responsible for :
- Designing, maintaining and supporting the network infrastructure.
- Monitoring system performance and ensuring reliability and availability.
- Recommending infrastructure solutions to meet business requirement in compliance with IT policy & procedure.
- Providing Level 2 support and troubleshooting as and when required.
- Analysing business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework.
- Providing technical (Level 2/Level 3) support.
- Providing design guidelines, documentation, standard configuration and best practices for implementation.
- Understanding available solutions and be aware of best practices within the industry.
- Working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements.
The Profile
- Ten plus (10+) years of industry experience in a networking environment with an emphasis on Network Security; Two (2) to five (5) years experience with any OS
- Basic networking technology skills along with a good understanding of cross-platform technologies;
- Certified security engineer (typically CCSE or comparable);
- Certified technical engineer (typically Cisco CCNP or comparable);
- Good technical ability to implement Firewall change requests and any potentially related L2/L3 router changes;
- Good technical ability to create and install Checkpoint objects for initial firewall policy;
- Good technical ability to build and configure Firewall devices (Checkpoint, Fortinet);
- Good technical ability to build and configure Proxies and IDS;
- Strong technical ability to provide troubleshooting in the security environment and fault escalation;
- Strong technical ability to provide troubleshooting for connectivity issues;
- Full understanding and operational knowledge of loop prevention protocols like spanning tree protocols;
- Full understanding of operational knowledge for troubleshooting of routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, RIP including NAT;
- Full understanding of operational knowledge for troubleshooting of IOS/operating systems and CatOS;
- Full understanding of operational knowledge for troubleshooting of trunking protocols –VTP, 8021. Q etc.;
- Full understanding of firewalls & different deployment architecture;
- Good understanding of ITIL and service management principles;
- Good ability to follow and document deployment processes;
- Strong experience with change request management systems;
- Strong experience with network monitoring/management tools/ analysis tools;
- Strong experience with liaising with carriers and vendors for installations
