Minimum Qualifications

Must possess an active teaching license issued by the Virginia Department of Education in the desired content area. Must provide a copy of most recent teaching evaluation with effective or higher ratings. Current administrator must complete the electronic reference form. 

Nature of Position

This position will provide instruction to pre-kindergarten students with disabilities served in an early childhood special education classroom. 

Examples of Duties

The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following functions/tasks:

Develops lesson plans and instructional material that meet the needs of the assigned group. Translates lesson plans into learning experience to best utilize the available time for instruction. Evaluates the academic progress of the assigned students. Communicates with all stakeholders to discuss student progress and provide feedback to the teacher of record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

In-depth knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching. Ability to interact effectively with students, staff, administrators, parents, and community.

Hazards/Unusual Demands

Work involves exposure to normal everyday hazards encountered in a school. Work is performed in a classroom and involves no unusual demands.
