Talon Veteran Services is a leading government contractor specializing in construction. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of our federal government contracts.

The purpose of the Site Superintendent is to monitor projects during the planning and completion state, including tasks such as scheduling. In this role you will follow quality standards and ensure the safety and security of the project site.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Supervise the work of trade contractors in several areas of a project.

· Enforce high safety standards, including a clean job site. Manage and perform weekly safety inspections. Inspect the quality of work for compliance with design standards and ensure corrective action occurs if/when necessary.

· As required, assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work scheduling, etc.).

· Coordinate and manage general conditions work and project logistics.

· Prepare and distribute daily reports.

· Establish credibility among Owners, trade contractors, etc., by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment.

· Review vendor drawings and submittals.

· Review plans and details with subcontractors to ensure work complies with the approved plans and submittals plan.

· Oversee the site management of project documentation, inclusive of, but not limited to, the following:

· Plans & Specifications, Subcontracts and Purchase Orders

· Submittals, RFI's and Correspondence

· Assist with the preparation of claims and change orders.

· Progress Photos

· Punch-lists and Inspection Reports

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum 10 years of commercial construction management with a general contractor as a field assistant superintendent. Desirable to have experience working Veteran's Administration Projects.

· Verifiable Experience or degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, etc., or any equivalent combination of education and experience to meet job requirements.

· Thorough knowledge of all aspects of commercial construction (technology, equipment, methods), engineering, cost control, schedules, and safety required. Excellent planning and leadership skills are essential-handling stress and interacting with others.

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and team members.

· Computer mastery of Windows-based applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Proficient in the use of Procore at the superintendent level.

· Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

· Strong technical and communication skills

· Excellent organizational skills

· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs.

· Ability to work in a team environment.

· Construction document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction.

· Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control

· Experience with running projects between $1 to $30 million.

· Good human relations skills and demonstrated ability to cooperate with subcontractors, residents, peers, and supervisors.

· Ability to travel between various work sites.

· Enthusiasm, positive attitude, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honesty
