Electrical Engineer - PE

Working knowledge of codes and standards including but not limited to: NFPA , , , , ; UL A; ASHRAE ; and Building Codes
Lighting design, system types, and understanding of the following concepts: Various lighting and lamp applications Color temperatures Lighting rules such as spacing to mounting height ratio, manual point to point calculations, and the impact of horizontal and vertical footcandles Life safety requirements (egress and exit marking) Circuiting and control Power design A growing knowledge of the design of power distribution Panel schedules Grounding and lightning protection systems Knowledge of the application of emergency systems, legally required systems, and optional standby systems Coordinates the connections of all power utilization components Documentation of calculations, reflecting code compliance of the following: Lighting calculations Power load calculations Short circuit and voltage drop calculations Coordination studies Design Ensures there are complete and accurate construction documents Able to utilize and manage design software Construction Support Problem-solving for field oversight including Requests for Information (RFI) Shop drawing/Submittal review Field inspections and reports Project Management Monitors work performed by the assigned designers and technicians Ensures all project internal and external comments and markups are incorporated into the project's design documents and specifications Professional Development Maintains required licensing CEUs by proactively seeking training to expand knowledge Leadership Manages assigned staff on the projects Provides coaching/mentoring of assigned staff promoting individual growth Engages the entire electrical team working with all team members Flexible and willing to quickly move between projects as needed to assist in meeting overall project schedules Education/Experience: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university Five to eight (-) years of relevant experience
