Deer Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation is currently searching for a Dietary Manager to join our team

The Dietary Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the dietary department in a skilled nursing facility, ensuring that meals are prepared in a safe, healthy, and appetizing manner. The Dietary Manager supervises and manages the dietary staff, ensuring that they follow dietary guidelines and meet nutritional requirements of residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents in consultation with the facility's registered dietitian
  • Manage food inventory and ordering, ensuring that supplies are adequate and within budgetary constraints
  • Oversee food preparation, ensuring that meals are prepared according to dietary guidelines and facility policies
  • Supervise and manage dietary staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation
  • Ensure that food storage, preparation, and service areas meet sanitation and safety standards
  • Work with the facility's registered dietitian to ensure that special dietary needs and preferences of residents are met
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that dietary needs are met for special events, holidays, and other occasions
  • Maintain accurate records and reports regarding food production, inventory, and staff performance
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures related to the dietary department
  • Participate in the facility's Quality Assurance program and attend meetings as required
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to dietary services

Qualifications:

  • CDM preferred
  • 2 years of experience in dietary management (preferred)
  • Knowledge of nutritional requirements and dietary guidelines for older adults
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
  • Experience in managing and supervising staff
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
