As part of a small team, you will be responsible for implementing and performing preventive and corrective maintenance requests required to support a rocket engine manufacturing / testing site. This is a hands-on position focused on electrical and minor mechanical facility additions or modifications. 

Facilities include launch vehicle engine manufacturing, integration and test.

As a facilities electrician you will be part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will push the boundaries of what’s possible in maintaining all facilities and equipment, including but not limited to (HVAC, HVAC controls, sprinkler and fire detection, security, electrical, communication, and plumbing). This position will directly impact the history of space exploration, requiring your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:

Installs, maintains, and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments Leads, guides, and/or trains other electricians in applicable procedures and techniques Repairs and maintains electrical systems and minor mechanical systems Plans electrical system additions or modifications May perform work of lower level electricians Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as directed by engineering Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum High School diploma At least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified Journeyman Electrician license (TX) Understanding of electrical distribution systems Ability to read blueprints, schematics and other electrical diagrams Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment and appliances Able to lift 50 lbs Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position Project planning, schedule and cost estimation Strong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operations Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be flexable with shifts / schedules Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

OSHA 30 NFPA 70E EPA Universal Technician Experience with aerospace manufacturing, or integration and test sites Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems Preparing and submitting purchase order requests Developing sources for stock materials
