Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join our healthcare team. As an ACNP, you will provide advanced care to patients with acute and complex health conditions in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, specialty clinics, and critical care units. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care, promote patient recovery, and optimize health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Manage acute and chronic illnesses, including but not limited to cardiovascular disorders, respiratory diseases, neurological conditions, and complex medical-surgical conditions.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, and invasive procedures, as indicated by patient condition and clinical guidelines.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and other interventions based on patient needs, evidence-based practice guidelines, and state regulations governing nurse practitioner practice.
  • Monitor patients' progress and responses to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary to optimize health outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment options, medication adherence, and self-care strategies to promote wellness and prevent complications.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, including consultations with specialists, referrals, and discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical notes using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and continuing education activities to enhance clinical knowledge and practice.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specialty.
  • Current national certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or other recognized certifying body.
  • Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or eligibility for state licensure.
  • Proven experience as an ACNP in an acute care or critical care setting preferred; new graduates with relevant clinical rotations may be considered.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with proficiency in acute care management and critical thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development in acute care nursing practice.
