Hours: 7

Saturday 3pm-10pm Every Weekend

Location: Woodbury, MN

Rate of Pay $26/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Support professionals (DSP's) work with individuals with disabilities to help them gain skills and more independence in areas such as communication, cooking, housekeeping, budgeting, personal safety, health, and recreation.

We are looking for a DSP to work in a group home setting 1:1 with a young male individual with Autism and OCD. This individual has limited ability to communicate verbally but uses a few words and facial expressions. Physically active- likes to keep moving.

This individual has extraordinary needs and requires exceptional staff. He requires staff that are flexible but able to create structure for the day. Staff need to have extensive experience working with individuals with autism and must also be physically active and able to keep up with the individual.

High school diploma or equivalent 2 years of relevant work experience 1 year of experience working with Autism and challenging behaviors Experience de escalating individuals who are prone to property destruction and physical and verbal aggression Ability to read, write and speak English at a level that meets the performance requirements; or must be able to communicate in the language spoken by the individual at a level that meets the performance requirements; whichever is deemed more important by the company. Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Ability to meet licensing requirements of the state and county Ability to effectively use a computer/tablet, calculator, household appliances, smoke alarms, etc. with training
