The Employment Programs Manager oversees the State and Federally funded employment programs, as well as performs employment-related activities, to help ORR-eligible clients find jobs and work towards the goal of self-sufficiency. 

The Employment Programs Manager builds the capacities and credentials of job seekers while addressing companies' needs for a dedicated and skilled workforce. The Employment Programs Manager reports to the Field Office Director. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure Team staff are productive, meeting all contract requirements, and nurturing a positive team environment. Understands State and Federal program contracts in detail and ensures all contract requirements are met and opportunities maximized. Provide ongoing leadership, direction, development, coaching, counseling, support, and oversight to program staff. Direct and coordinate implementation of programs within the position’s portfolio. Responsible for meeting all program reporting deadlines, ensuring reports and vouchers are complete and correct according to contract requirements and guidelines. Foster strong working relationships with businesses, community-based organizations, and partner agencies; provide consistent communication with partner agencies to ensure coordination of services and development of client and funding opportunities. Work with targeted businesses and industries to develop potential worksites and employment opportunities for clients, negotiate worksite training agreements or special accommodations, monitor and track success following placement, serve as primary contact person, and maintain a database of current and potential business partners.  Assess experience, skills, and limitations of clients; identify job opportunities suitable for clients; assist clients in filling out employment applications, set up interviews with potential employers, accompany clients to interviews or arrange transportation; and Survey and recruit potential employer partners through in-person site visits, email, phone, physical flyers, and by attending job fairs.  Foster and maintain relations and coordination with employer partners and involve educational institutions to support ESOL in workplaces, skills training, curriculum development, and address employers' challenges.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Human Services, Social Work, or related discipline.  Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate well, building relationships and partnerships with USCRI clients, employment partners, state and federal program staff, headquarters and field office staff. Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and database programs, as needed. Ability to get along with others and thrive in a dynamic fast- fast-paced team environment. Demonstrated commitment to the mission of USCRI and interest in contributing to the long-term success of a local nonprofit organization. Must have a clean valid driver’s license and insurance, and a reliable motor vehicle; and Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information, and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.

TRAINING REQUIREMENT

Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training; and  Complete additional training as identified by the supervisor or Human Resources.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
