Turbo Machinery Repair is one of only a few companies in the San Francisco Bay Area with the capability and expertise to remanufacture heavy industrial process rotating equipment – primarily pumps. Our facility, which is located in Richmond, has earned an excellent reputation with our customers and in the industry. Service and quality are number one.

We are searching for a journeyman industrial pump mechanic who can disassemble, inspect, and use micrometers and dial indicators to evaluate the condition of equipment. The successful candidate must be able to compile and write thorough job inspection reports. This position will also include work on gearboxes, compressors and other process rotating equipment. 

Responsibilities of the Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to:

Read blueprints and drawingsUse micrometers and dial indicatorsUse all types of mechanics’ hand toolsUtilize presses, torches and pullersAlign pumps and motorsRebuild mechanical seals

Qualifications of the Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to:

Have a working knowledge of fits and clearancesBe adept at reading micrometers and other measuring instrumentsHave good math skillsBe accomplished at writing inspection reportsHave a high school degreeHave at least 4 years of experience

Additional Information:

Pay Range: $30-$48 DOE

Physical Demand: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Training/Certifications: Ability to perform laser alignments and ability to take vibration readings preferred

Shift Time/Overtime: First Shift with Overtime as required

Travel: N/A

Education: High School Diploma
