Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to manage the Legal Research and Writing Program (LRW); to organize events; to initiate, develop, and implement communications strategies for outreach to faculty at other law schools to enhance the national reputation of the LRW program; and to design, publish, and distribute outreach materials to program graduates.

Specifically, the person in this position must independently coordinate the work of tutors and research assistants; facilitate tutor orientation and training meetings; support workshops (research, writing, and citation) and practice rounds for oral arguments; and organize and host public oral arguments for first-year law students.

This position includes office management, executive assistance to the LRW Director and LRW faculty, and project management for large, ongoing projects and events including the annual visit of the Oregon Supreme Court, regional and national conferences, and presentations by attorneys to first-year students. In addition, this person supervises student workers who provide significant administrative support to faculty and law students serving as tutors.

This position is 0.75 - 1.0 FTE and reports to the LRW Faculty Director.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Three years’ experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist with increasing responsibility, OR the equivalent combination of a related professional degree along with administrative and executive support capabilities.
• Two years’ experience in program management or high-level program coordination.
