What You Will Do:

The Financial Consultant helps clients optimize all elements of their finance organization, including operating model design, sustainable cost reduction, financial planning and analysis, management reporting, financial systems architecture, and full-scale finance transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing financial management support to Federal client in accordance with Federal financial management requirements
  • Support quantitative development of business case documentation (e.g., needs analysis, cost/benefit analysis)
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile various financial business documents (e.g., invoices, travel vouchers)
  • Identify and suggest process improvement opportunities
  • Develop work products that clearly synthesize information into recommendations for clients
  • Facilitate client meetings to gather data and understand client needs and desired outcomes
  • Prepare training materials and facilitate knowledge transfer to client stakeholders
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and quality assurance to junior staff



What You Will Need:

  • 1+ years of financial management experience
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a major in any field that included or was supplemented by; at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with products such as communications and executive presentations
  • Candidates should reside within a reasonable number of miles to a Washington, D.C., MD or Northern VA Guidehouse Office.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance.



What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Public sector financial management
  • Experience in Federal consulting
  • Experience in internal control assessments
  • Experience working with Federal agencies
  • Knowledge of Federal financial management regulations, including the Treasury Financial Manual, Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA), and OMB Circular A-123
  • Knowledge of Federal budget process
