Job Description
Avery Dennison Performance Tapes has an immediate opening for an experienced Supply Chain professional to fulfill the role of Buyer/ Planner. This role will report into the Materials Manager and prepare business-related analyses and research for Supply Chain, Materials Management, and/or Logistics (SML). The individual will focus on activities related to Buying, Planning, Forecasting, and Inventory / Material Control. The role will also focus on improvements to processes and preparing reports, graphs, and charts of data, and/or ensuring efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As part of our team, this individual will operate under general guidance from the Materials Manager to ensure execution of daily operational efficiencies and implementation of key business objectives.
Manage the Buy and Resell ordering process
Date customer orders as needed
Analyze material usage in response to demand or supply changes; improve and standardize daily planning processes
Maintain and improve vendor management processes, including Supplier Scorecard and Forecasting
Manage Buy and Resell inventory to achieve service and inventory objectives. Assist the site inventory management process which includes cycle counts, loss reduction projects, SLOB inventory
Identify and lead projects to improve Buy and Resell planning, inventory management, and service. Provide support for new product introduction or transitions
Assist as needed with external Sub-Contract processes and the associated movement of inventory
Assist with the planning of shipping from the manufacturing location
Analyze and plan material requirements by figuring out the quantity and date materials are needed to ensure optimal inventory levels
Audit invoices to ensure that correct charges have been applied
Prepare forecasts and analyze trends in manufacturing, sales, distribution, general business conditions, and other related areas
Participate in or lead process effectiveness and continuous improvement projects
Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met
Implement lean concepts and continuous improvements
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or other related degree preferred
2 years of supply chain/logistics or related experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Strong analytical and mathematical skills and demonstrated ability to conduct research, prepare comprehensive reports, and present complex statistical information in a clear and succinct fashion
Solid verbal and written communication skills are needed
Validated experience for driving action and execution against daily run-the-business tasks and project responsibilities. Requires strong attention to detail and extraordinary interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements
Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees
Ability to understand the needs of key partners and use employee knowledge and expertise to develop or improve systems and processes
Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office, email/ internet applications, and function-specific software
APICS Certification desired
Familiarity and experience with Lean Manufacturing methodology are strongly preferred
Travel as required
