Description Overview

Provide nutritional technical support to the Pilot Plant and factories to meet operational requirements not limited to manufacturing documentation, theoretical calculations, and change management.

Scope of the Role

Prepare prototype and/or master formulas and associated technical documentation that comply with nutritional, regulatory, and legal requirements and meet commercial objectives. Prepare Pilot Plant and/or Plant Trial technical documentation for any necessary trial work. Complete periodic data review of new and existing finished products to ensure compliance with nutritional requirements throughout shelf life. Use established statistical principles to conduct assessments and make recommendations for shelf life and shelf-life extensions. Provide concise written reports summarizing information. Provide nutritional technical support to the factories including change management, formula fits, theoretical assessments, batch adjustments, and inventory management of raw materials to minimize waste. Prepare new ingredients such as vitamin and/or mineral premixes and their associated specifications for new and/or existing formulas. Periodically review existing raw material data to monitor for changes. Provide timely responses to retailer and customer requests. Support formulation Organic audit requirements for factories. Participate in cross functional team(s) to establish and provide accountability for project timelines, roadblocks, and critical steps.

Experience Required

Minimum: BS in Science with in nutrition, manufacturing, algebra, and chemistry. Preferred: BS in Food Science, Nutrition, or related degree with at least two years or relevant professional experience. Previous formulation experience preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and competency in other Office applications. Experience in SAP, SLIM, Ensur, Open Text, and statistical applications preferred but not required. Ability to review and comprehend implications of regulations for different markets (FDA, CODEX, , HC, etc.). Highly focused, superior accuracy and attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good problem solving and analytical skills. Knowledge of product development processes from prototype to commercialization. Ability to work independently in a result driven, high-paced dynamic environment. A willingness to switch gears and align quickly on emerging priorities.
